Howdy folks! I applied for a group a few weeks ago and am still waiting for a spot to open up, so I thought I would drop in and say hello just for kicks and grins.
Allow myself to introduce ...err...myself.
I am the Cowboy Poet, I am 29 and an aspiring writer. I have completed a full length fantasy novel and I am in the process of soliciting reviews from a handful of people and seeking advice on further projects. I am from Texas and I am an owner in a large construction company. How's that for irony? Me, a fantasy/scifi writer? hmmm.... Well, here's hoping!

Welcome aboard I've known a few cowboy poets, pretty nice guys for the most part. They certainly come up with some good stuff.

I think my favourite cowboy poem is Reincarnation by Wallace McCrae.

Greetings! I've heard of spaghetti westerns, but maybe this is the beginning of spaghetti sci-fi?

Yeah, but you lose the Cowboy element and I don't plan to film any movies in Italy. I trend more toward fantasy, anyhow. I finished my book and then picked up George RR Martin and my first thought was "That SOB ripped me off!" No, just kidding, but I write in a similar style. Quality? We'll find out soon enough! Think Martin meets Tolkien with a faster pace. (Now don't that sound arrogant? wishful thinking and the fact that I am in a confidence upswing....yall know what that's like being aspiring writers, I am sure. The never ending rollercoaster ride that is self critique. Today its a best seller, tomorrow its kindling. . .)
