Who here subscribes to sf/f magazines? Which one(s)?

Do you also have a massive stack of sample copies that you've purchased simply to justify sending in a submission?

Well, I subscribed to Asimov's recently, but haven't received anything. No, I never ever purchased mass amounts of magazines as an excuse, but I did once let my dirty underwear pile up until it was too much trouble to wash it, so I bought a year's batch instead. My wife won't let me do that any more.

I've a copy of Asimov's last year, and one of Fantasy and Science Fiction. But that's it.

I'm just not that big on short stories.

I'm not big on short stories either, but I'm learning to like them.

I have a couple of issues of Realms of Fantasy, a huge stack of Dragon simply because I love Nodwick and Dork Tower, and one copy of the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.

I like reading e-zines and websites, but lately it's only been the free ones.

But right now I'm trying to find time to read a Terry Prachett novel my husband got me. (I guess posting here doesn't help, does it?)

I don't read too many of the periodicals, but I love THE YEAR'S BEST SCIENCE FICTION, edited by Gardener Dozois. I've got all the volumes going back about tem years. Most of the other short stories I read are in similiar reprint collections.

I don't subscribe to anything except Writer's Digest, Discover, and Scientific American.
But I check out the new issues of Analog, Asimov's and F&SF when I'm in the bookstores. If I like what I see, I'll buy one. I think if I went through the house and collected them all, I'd have a stack about two feet high, and that's counting the ones my daughters have gotten ahold of.

Subscriptions:

Realms of Fantasy
Weird Tales
Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction
Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wrislet
Black Gate (which I will NOT be renewing)
Flesh & Blood

I occassionally read Strange Horizons and I buy anthologies like nobody's business.

Also, I get writer's digest.

I subscribe to Realms of Fantasy and the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. I usually pickup Weird Tales when I see it at the bookstore, and sometimes pickup Asimov's and Locus if I see something interesting in it. I've gotten a few sample copies over the years: Analog, The First Line, Black Gate, and Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, as well as reading through some of the online 'zines.

Wow, GZ. You can actually find Weird Tales at the bookstore? That's impressive.

I'm suscribed to Popular Mechanics and Nintendo Power. They're kinda light on the short stories though.

Oh! I'm also subscribed to Knappies for Chappies, kinda like a GQ thing.

Wow, Pyre, Nintendo Power still exists? I remember it from when I was 10 and used to get the secrets to Super Mario Brothers and Ninja Gaiden from it.

Well, the last Werid Tales I found was #335 for March-April 2004. I'm not sure Borders and Barnes & Noble aren't carrying it anymore, or if it just hasn't been coming out regularly. <shrug>
