Thanks to Kathleen for allowing us to post these notices here.

You can only participate if you are registered at Liberty Hall. This is to protect your work and preserve your rights, and protect our privacy from e-scum.

Briefly, a Liberty Hall flash challenge is timed writing challenge in which you are given 90 minutes total to send an email off for a 'trigger', use that trigger to generate a story idea, write the story, and submit it to Liberty Hall. Your entry will be posted anonymously in one of several groups. On Monday it will be available for viewing and commenting. You can expect 30-40 views and 5-15 comments/critiques. Voting also starts at that time, in several categories. Guessing who wrote which also starts on Monday. This all continues until Wednesay, when the winners are declared. At that point the winners of Best Flash for the groups are put up against each other, and we vote for Best of the Best. On Thursday the overall winner is declared and we ask people to reveal themselves as the authors. On Friday a new challenge starts and the former challenge is locked. On Saturday I delete the former challenge. I do not keep any stories in any form whatsoever, except mine.

Trigger Request and Story Submittal

1) Please send an email to lhfc16@earthlink.net in order to receive the trigger. Once your email is received, the clock starts.

Please include the words Flash #16 in the subject line of your trigger request.
You will have 90 minutes total to return your story by email.

2) Please attach your story to an email, OR paste your story into the body of an email and send it to lhfc16@earthlink.net (the same email address).

Please include the words Flash #16 in the subject line of your submittal.
Please include the word count and a title at the start of your submittal.

You will receive a response that we have your submittal, but it might have to wait until the end of the day.

If you have any problems, please email mikemunsil. I'll get to you when I can.

There have been a number of problems with the autoreply feature in the trigger email. So, I'm declaring amnesty for anyone who wishes to submit this time, but for whatever erason wasn't able to get their story in according to the rules. Go ahead and write it, then submit it.

Email myself or Melody (MCampbell) for the trigger if you requested it and did not receive it, or did not receive it soon enough.

Brutal few stories this week.

Yep. So everyone should have no excuse for not reading and commenting on EVERY story.

Ah, good point.

...and there's a greater chance to win those amazing t-shirt appliques. I can guarantee you that they are unique, as I paid for the art, myself!

I already know which story is going to win.

No, I don't. I've been looking at the stories again, and my mind has changed. I have no idea which story might win. Just know it won't be mine.

I'm still bummed that I couldn't write this week. First one I've missed since the third flash. I'll try to squeeze out some critique time, I promise.

My trigger worked fine. I was so excited cause I actually finished. It has horrible format and plot but I finished. Yeah!

Congratulations to Paul Cameron for his win this week!

If you haven't read it yet, I suggest reading Paul's "Tall Tales".
