I'm going to be resorting to a lurking status for the time being so I can get one of the three WIP's I have done. I have the one in mind, so I'm going to try to finish it for entry in the January WOTF quarterly contest.

I'll post from time to time to give updates on my WIP. (As of now, it has almost 6400 words) Also, it's almost half done and when it's done, I'll probably ask for readers.

Just some news to share with you, I actually plugged away yesterday and hit 2k+. WOOOHOOO!!!
Just another I don't know, maybe 8K more then I'll see where it is. (That'll put it up to around 15k),however, I'm going to push it to the 17k word limit. (I'm sure that's the word limit)

10k words. I've never thought it would come to pass. Whew. Only 7 k more then I get to polish it up.

It sounds like you may be ready to submit by September 31, instead of waiting until January. At least if you're working as fast as it sounds like you are.
I'm in a similar situation. I've got a WIP that will be somewhere between 10 and 20 thousand words I am considering entering, and I want to submit it for this quarter, not next.

Keep at it dude!!! Like I told you, butt in chair and type away, you'll be amazed how much you get done.
I wouldn't set a word target, though ... just write it until it's done and leave it at then (well...revise, rewrite, etc...).

A quick update: 12,000 wds.
I am so proud of myself for sticking with this one. This one is getting close to being done. Then the all important editing phase. I'd say another week or so till the rough draft is done.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Once again, an quick update. I know that it's been like 4 days since my last post, but here it is: 14738 words.
I have two more scenes to as it is right now, but I'll see how it goes from there.

Guess what you guys? I'm past the 17k mark and the end is just right there. I think that there is about two scenes left or so.
Once again, thanks to SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED, OSC, and all you great people who reside here on Hatrack.
Hopefully it'll be done here in a few weeks. Then off to edit it.
