So many questions. Just wondering Mike.
-Bryan-
I'll do it on Sunday then.
[This message has been edited by Isaiah13 (edited December 03, 2005).]
There's a 3-day period (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) every week which is the writing period. You get to choose the 90-minute period in that interval that suits you best. We can do that because I have a web-based database system that clocks how much time you take, from viewing the trigger to submitting your piece. The 90-minute restriction, by the way, is only there if you want to be eligible for the voting. If you want to take longer, feel free. You just won't be eligible to be voted as best in categories or of the group. You'll still receive opinions and comments on your work.
So, please feel free to join us. I'll be looking for your registration. Please register ahead of time if possible as there is no guarantee that I'll justbe sitting here on Sunday waiting on you.
Please also send me an independent email identifying your username and the password you choose for the database. After I let you in to the forums, you'll be able to change that password if you wish, but I don't have that capability in the database. Yet.
Mike
I predict that my competitor will win. It's a clear no-brainer. I voted for the other.
However, some of the people reading, commenting and voting never saw the trigger. So, once the writing period is over, we post the trigger for their titillation (love that word).
Here it is.
-----
We have several triggers to choose from:
Trigger 1
----------
Some years ago, a man opened fire on a
Leonardo da Vinci drawing with a
shotgun. We're coming up on the
anniversary of John Lennon's murder; we
still don't really know why Chapman shot
him. How and why do people get to the
point where they commit such destructive
and seemingly crazy things? Please write
your story to touch on and/or attempt to
explain something completely irrational to
most people.
Trigger 2
-----------
The word 'abandoned' and the following

P.S. I participated in that "guess the gender" poll last year. Do I still have a login from that? I'm not sure if I was going by franc li or pooka at the time.

1. email me with the following:
a. username
b. preferred email
c. password
This is for the trigger/submittal system.
2. go to http://www.munsil.net/phpBB2/index.php and look in the upper right-hand corner for the "Register" link. follow the instructions. (I am having trouble with this, but we'll work it out). This is so that you can have access to all the forums. Most are not visible unless you are registered.
3. go to Liberty Hall and poke around and read how we do things. you might also want to go read existing stories, comments and look at the polls. this is to gain a comfort level before trying your first challenge.
4. wait to receive the database email from me. it will give you instructions on where to go to actually obtain the trigger and submit your entry. it is not part of the forums. i have separate software that handles it. this is so that you will be able to flash when you decide to.
That's all!
