I'm still in for this weekend. Albeit on Sunday.

I'm going to expand and rewrite my flash I completed last weekend.

I think the title will change, but you never know.

Once again, thanks for inviting me Mike.

good having you, Monolith.

Notebored has a 'Polish Challenge', soft 'o', polish as in 'clean up'. You should take that story to Notebored and submit it in their challenge.

Ah, heck.

Since I had some free time I went and took the challenge early. I wrote something totally different and in a genre I haven't written before, and I'm DYING to see if it worked.

But now I have to wait until Monday before anyone else sees it.

Darn.

Challenge #37 stories are up for reading, commenting and voting.

The trigger was pulled... and you fired your bullets. Some were right on target, and some were blanks. But you all tried.

However, some of the people reading, commenting and voting never saw the trigger. So, once the writing period is over, we post the trigger for their titillation (love that word).

Here it is.

-----

OK, here's the trigger; it's an extract
from Shriekback's lyrics for "Faded
Flowers".

TRIGGER BEGINS

Use any one or more couplets from the
following as the trigger for your story.

"These faded flowers
Precious as memory

A veil of cloud
Corrupt as energy

We had some good machines
But they don't work no more

I loved you once
Don't love you anymore"

TRIGGER ENDS
