walk me through the use of this site. How do I quote things when I post? Anything else that would be helpful, I'd appreciate it.

One thing you might want to consider doing is putting more information in the subject lines of your post so that people know whether it's something they're interested in or not. "someone please" and "does anyone read" aren't very informative.

You use UBB code.
When you're typing a message to post, there's a little link to the left of your window which says "UBB code is ON". Click on it to have explanations.

And be aware of what so many of us miss -- that beneath the reply box, under the submit button, is a box in which you can scroll through the thread on which you're commenting.

I'd like to know how to quote, too. It'd be useful. My knowledge of how to work the site is limited. I was here for months before someone pointed out there was a scroll-down feature for the thread on the reply page. And it was only a couple of days ago that I figured out how to have my password and user name be permanently on...

Wow, I completely missed that...I've been opening the thread in one window, posting my reply using a second window, and flipping back and forth! Just not too observant I guess!

Took me a while to pick that up, too. And, of course, for the longest of times, I thought that clicking on the "UBB code is ON" button would simply turn it off. Ah, well.

I can change the topic title to something like "Tips on posting here" if you like.

Thank you, that would be great.

Remove the spaces from the stuff in bracket's and you've got a quote:

[ quote ]Put another nickel in, in the nickelodeon...[ / quote ]

When I click on the "post reply" button, I right-click and then select "open link in new tab" That way I can cut from one tab and paste in the other. Of course, I did this because I bad never noticed the scroll bar.

While the UBB quote code is nice, if you use quotation marks I think most of us will understand what you mean
