Hi all,

A friend of mine is interested in writing screenplays. Is there any place online that can give him some good information on the process?

TIA

Nicole

"The Complete Book Of Scriptwriting", by J M Straczinski (that's almost certainly spelt wrong) (Babylon 5 creator) is a superb piece of reference, too.

Straczynski. As Joe often described it: "two vowels and ten thousand consonants."

I wish GEnie was still active. Joe had a forum there dedicated entirely to B5, and he'd make numerous posts about the creative process that went into his stories. Even though he was writing screenplays, he still dropped a great deal of wisdom regarding storytelling in general.

I'll never forget the story he told us about having his stories, unknown to him, critiqued by Rod Serling when Joe was in high school.

Peter Allen David and some other writers were regulars there.

Ah, those were the days...

Incidentally, I beleive Joe still posts on Usenet and www.jmsnews.com is an archive of many of the messages Joe has posted over the years, on GEnie and elsewhere. It might be worth digging through their archives for some tidbits on screenwriting.
