hey, i need to come up with a matched set of names for two ferrets (don't ask). I thought something like steven and stephen from benny and joon, and then my daughter told me one of her friends has ferrets names bob and bob (for dylan and marley) and i'd like to do something similar. Albert (camus) and Albert (einstein) ? Not at all related to one another, but they were the first male names that came to mind.
What about Tom (Stoppard) and Thomas (Paine?) Then you could at least tell them apart.
My BIL has two cats - one named Boy, the other named Girl. (There used to be a third, named Baby, who went w/his roommate.)

i'm kind of groovin' on Jeeves and Wooster-although I have no idea what the names refer to, unless its the "ask jeeves" search engine. they are boys. Albert and Albert are pretty cool, too, Thanks KayTi!

Naming the same thing (bob & bob) is cute, but could be confusing for them.

Do you mean matched names, as in the same name like Bob and Bob and Steven and Stephen? Or just names that go together like Crabbe and Goyle (not sure on spelling there)?

"Ask Jeeves" got it's name from P.G.Wodehouse's "Jeeves and Wooster" stories. They are a collection of delightfully mischeivous stories about a man of money (Wooster) who is naive and nonchalant, but not alltogether dumb, and his valet, Jeeves. Jeeves is a veritable genius who solves all of Wooster's problems - most of which seem to center around an engagement to be married that Wooster would like to escape.
But really you have to experience Jeeves and Wooster to appreciate them. There was a BBC series starring Stephen Fry as Jeeves and Hugh Laurie (of "House" fame) as Wooster that is quite entertaining.

Coincidentally, I've just been re-watching the Fry and Laurie "Jeeves and Wooster" this past week or so.
To throw another semi-obscure reference on here, this discussion reminds me of the Monty Python sketch, with the man trying to obtain licences for his pets---all named Eric.

If you want an "occult" reference, what about Beezle and Bub? Or have I slandered the occult by associating them with the devil? What would be funny is if the person named them Beezle and Bub not thinking of how they would sound together.

If you list them in opposite order, Bub and Beezle, it might not be as obvious to some readers.
