07-23-07 Did You Write?

Another week has arrived.

I am sorry to say that I never had the opportunity to open my word processor for anything other than my story ideas. I had to skip a day because of something scheduled, but I planned for that.
Each month, I gather up my story ideas for the month, and E-mail them out to a selected group of fools, I mean friends, family, and contacts. I started to prepare to send out the June story ideas, then saw that I had not sent out the May story ideas. I write a cover sheet to tell what is going on in my writing and my life, and to remind people about what they are getting, which is public domain story ideas, posted with the intentions that they be written by anybody who is interested. I don't want them to go to waste. Anyway, I sent out both month's story ideas at the same time.
I figured out that I am three ideas ahead for the year. I count things by month. I get an idea ahead for the month and it then counts for the year. So far, In seven years, I was behind only one month, and that was because of Hurricane Wilma, when I had no power for about two weeks. I made up for the missing posts the next month, entering the last month on schedule. I ended the year just a few ideas ahead. I have also had good years, like one year, I posted fifty ideas in December of that year, and the following year where I wrote a hundred extra ideas for the year. Most years though, ten ideas ahead is doing well.

I made two wooden three legged stools, and sold one to my boss, and gave the other away to my brother. I have to make one for myself some time. I do all my woodworking at my mother's house. She is going to be leaving town for a couple weeks so we have to get her house ready for hurricanes, since this is hurricane season. This means all the woodworking equipment gets put away. That leaves me only to carving, rather than some other projects I might consider. Luckily, I basically finished four new carving knives. I need to sit and use them, and see what modifications that need to be made to make them comfortable to use and to make sure the blades are right.
On a blacksmith board, I wrote a bit of drivel about making knives. someone did not like my title of "Rambling Of An Idiot." He said it should be "Cliff notes of Knife making." It is fun to write something that others consider believable. Generally, half the people on that board know twice as much as I do. I can write, though....

So, to the question of DID YOU WRITE? I will claim my answer is NO.

Yup, and my latest is just singing along (finally!!!!) after being more like pulling teeth with no anesthesia for a while! It's much nicer when it sings!!

Some journalling is all so far, but the night is young.

I had a rough week. I only got a few thousand words written. Having gotten to the last chapter of the rough draft of my novel. I've started world building for my next one and I had some short stories I had to research a market for to get them out. Those little chores can eat time.

I kept up my usual pace on my novel---and passed the ninety-thousand word mark. (Another five thousand and it'll be longer than anything I've written before.)

Also I came up with a problematic idea for an SF murder mystery (see another post for a few more details), but all that development is in my head, not in a word processor file---shortly, I suppose, I'll get something down.

I wrote on the 24th, but I'm too lazy to make a thread. Or is this just a Monday thing?

I wrote a lot that day. I've been moved by a particular story idea, and ideas have been pouring out like cheap wine. Too bad it's not my WiP, but I ran into so many problems with that I feel I'm going to have to start over and don't have the heart for it right now. I think after I do this I can go back to the old WiP (which obviously isn't "in progress" anymore.) At any rate, the "writing" I did was research and notes.
