Did you write? 11-19-07

AS an attempt to embarrass myself, and to prompt all of you, into writing, this is another installment of that important question. Writing could be editing your work, poetry, writing on a story, planning out a story (as long as something goes on paper) article writing, editing someone else's work.

As for me, It did embarrass me into opening my story, but I never got far. I have to make a major change in the little bit I already wrote because it does not make sense the way it is. I could just continue writing, making the change from now on, but wanted to get it right. I opened the piece, started making changes, and ran out of time. I have not done a word or page count as I doubt it would be worthy of mentioning.

I am keeping up on my story ideas, getting ahead at one point, then behind at another. they seem to be coming out a bit more complete than normal. Part of that is that they are fun to write. I also get kind of carried away, showing how the concept could be put to use. The one I wrote yesterday shows how computers are sucking the life out of those of use who use computers.

I am getting close to having all my ornaments ready to offer for Christmas. There is nothing like a deadline to force one to get things done. My plan is to have nearly all of them done to take to work Monday. I will try to sell them up till Christmas.
The main thing I have to do is to carve half a dozen more of the doves. I am in the process of painting the last of the wreaths, and the candy canes. I have the Santa's boots made and basically done, though I might paint a few more of them black, rather than wood colored. That will do me for the year. I can always make more if they seem popular, but getting the first dozen of each done is important.
I had a wood turning club meeting Thursday and was able to get my turkey bowl done to display. they liked it. I have a good start on the tail and will work on that over the next month to make the turkey prefect. I will use my turkey bowl, my duck bowl, and my three pumpkins as center pieces for Thanksgiving dinner.

One way to use my woodworking situation is that everybody is leaving the planet. You are making things for the trip that will make it enjoyable, but not really necessary. You are hoping to sell them to upgrade your room from the barracks to an actual personal cabin. The question is whether you can finish in time to have a good chance of selling them before leaving. You are close to finishing.

I will have to see how this week goes as to whether I can get to writing. I have to correct the part I already have written, before I can get to the really fun part of throwing words onto the paper to see how they come together.

As for the question of the day, I could say not really, but I will say NO, I DID NOT WRITE.

Did you write?

You bet!

I finaly felt good enough to do some and managed to churn out 1k in words. I know it is not alot, but I haven't really been able to focus for the last week. Listening to Kzion helped though, so I am gonna make sure that I do that more.

Regretfully, no. But yesterday, mostly at work, I conceived in my head two half-ideas for short stories ("half" 'cause I figure out some scenes but not how to get to them and how to go from them), plus an essay (or maybe a long ranting post right here).

Though the Thanksgiving holiday is likely to be crowded---I get an extra day off, but I'm also hosting the family get together 'cause my table is large enough, but it also means I have to do a lot of cleaning---I hope to get something written down in the next three days.

2500 words. Hopefully, the majority of them are actually value-added to the story.

:-)

I did. I wrote and researched. As I'm writing this, I have my WIP open, too. Just getting into [i]that[i] frame of mind, and then I'll pound out some more.

I researched my head off and wrote some as well, but unfortunately not for a piece of fiction. Essay-writing season is upon me, sigh.

I did! I wrote parts of a scene I have been trying to straighten out for a few days now.

Nothing major, but at least I did something.

Been a bit absent of late.

Spent Sunday sick in bed, so decided to revamp my WotF piece and posted it for critique at codex. Varying comments from the three guys who looked at it. I would be curious what a woman would think of it (do guys even know what "endometrial biopsy" implies?).

I am finally starting to feel healthy again. Being sick is so danged depressing. I might be able to get back to writing on my novel here in a day or two. That would be cool.
