I was possibly optimistic that we would get 25 entries for the micro-fiction competition. We have 9 entries so far. More would be great. Get them in...however we don't want this to drag on.
Perhaps we should give people until Friday 14th, 18.00 GMT to enter, then we can vote on the winner.
When you vote (wait until Friday), just EDIT YOUR ENTRY POST, and underneath your entry put 'VOTE' followed by the story title of the one you think you would BUY if you were an editor.

Supposedly there is a famous letter in which the letter writer said something along the lines of "Sorry this letter is so long; I didn't have time to make it shorter."
(I've heard that "story" at more than one short story writing presentation. I wonder if I can find out who is supposed to have written the letter if I do a Google search.)

Edited to add: Wilde probably said it, too. But he was also later than Pascal and could have been alluding to him, too.
I would imagine that writers like Twain and Wilde would surely have heard the story, so I'm inclined to give the first credit to the writer who lived earliest.

Omigosh I had forgotten who Pascal was--rather more than a triangle and a programming language!
Twain and Wilde must surely have been aware of his work so yes, first credit to Pascal.
