I don't know about you, but part of my everyday web routine was a scan through Speculation's Rejection/Acceptance Log. Unfortunately, Speculations closed down this weekend.

Jeannette Cheney (who won third place in WOTF late last year) has set up a replacement: http://community.livejournal.com/ra_log

It's a good way of keeping one's ear to the ground. Also it is a comfort to see those who have made pro sales also get rejected. You're not alone.

How interesting. Surprisingly, I do feel better having a look at other people's rejections. I got 2 this morning.

With nothing compiled, it doesn't seem very meaningful to me. Guess it's a matter of preference. I use Duotrope and Black Holes.

I use duotrope, but not black holes. JeanneT, can you post a link?

Sure thing.

There's probably a statistical bias towards acceptances on the blog, kind of a "I want the whole world to know thing"

I haven't seen this bias. Look at the number of rejections reported these last few days...

Critter's Blackhole is a good resource. The more resources, the better. The one thing I liked about Speculations is that it was a bit more than dry stats. It gave names, blurbs, chitchat. I'm not sure if the LJ log will be more than a temporary solution or not, but it is worth a minute's browsing every now and then. I'm sure I'll have some rejections to report soon enough!

I bumping this up because it's been about four months. Again, I'm not claiming it's an end-all-be-all tool, but I've enjoy seeing rejections/acceptances and getting a sense of the person behind the stat.
