Please forward to your writing and illustrating friends!

The Ninth Annual Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers Workshop runs Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, 2008. It will be held in Provo, Utah. This week-long program features 4-hour writing and illustration workshops each morning with afternoon conference sessions on illustration, writing, and publishing.

If you can’t be with us all day, join us just for the afternoon session.

This year’s workshop faculty include:

Will Terry: Illustration
Ann Dee Ellis: Beginning Writing
Lisa Wheeler: Picture Book
Kathi Appelt: Picture Book
Claudia Mills: Early Readers
AE Cannon: Novel
Jeanette Ingold: Novel
Sally Warner: Novel
Janette Rallison: Novel
Brandon Sanderson: Fantasy and Sci Fi

Editors Martha Mihalick (Greenwillow) and Stacy Whitman (Mirrorstone) will make presentations during the week. Stephen Fraser of Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency in New York will be here for the entire workshop, and speaking, too. Each is looking for authors and illustrators to publish.

For more information, to see a program schedule, or to register go to the website: http://ce.byu.edu/cw/writing/.

Or, if you have specific questions, email me at carolthewriter@yahoo.com and I’ll try and help answer your queries. Put WIFYR in the subject line.

This workshop helps people break into publishing every year. It’s hard work, but a lot of fun, too.

Wishing you a happy writing day,

Carol Lynch Williams
