I want to start subbing a YA novel, but as the title suggests, it's 50,000 words long. Is that long enough for a YA novel, or should I be thinking about adding a few thousand words.

There are a lot of YA titles out there in that length.

Yeah, that's a good length, darklight.

I was trying to find it somewhere online, but couldn't, so I was hoping Kathleen or someone might know.

What are the average word length of Chris Crutcher's books?
I have read almost every one of them, and they were always a very enjoyable length for me. Just wondering, thank you if anyone does know.

I checked that Amazon search insdie feature, that someone else had mentioned on another thread for a Chris Crutcher book, Whale something? 61,335 words, said it was about average in length 56% I believe the number. So 50,000 should be within th range.
