Did You Write? 06-16-08
.
Another day has arrived to admit to whether you are an anchor to society, dragging it back from the heights it could achieve, or that you took a moment to write something this week. Which is it for you?
I consider writing, as New writing of course, poetry, Editing of any kind, even if it is someone else's work. It is also writing articles, writing assignments, blogging, E-mails as long as they are long and have to do with writing. Actually, if YOU consider it writing, then it must be....

If you noticed, the advancement of society has not happened this week. I was flogging myself over not writing earlier in the week when I had the chance and got carried away. I found I liked it.. I mean I have a reason for not writing. I will tell it to you as soon as I come up with it.....
This Sunday, when I had the opportunity to write on one of my stories, My writing partner sent me a story idea that I just had to write. She said it was a silly idea. that was a mistake. the silly ideas are what I thrive on. I sat down to write it and when I leaned back with the story done, it was one line from going onto page four. Of course, I did not get to write on my own stories.
Later I noticed that I have a club meeting this week and will not be able to post a story idea that day, so getting a story idea ahead helped.
So anyway, I shamed the universe by not writing on any of my stories.

Many of the stories I posted this week went directly from my mind into the keyboard, never getting noted down on the note papers. Counting the story idea I am posting tonight, I have 28 ideas sitting next to the keyboard. Not to bad.

In woodworking, I am trying something I have not tried before. I am making a beer stein, or is it a bear stein? This is a lidded cup. I made a handled mug once before, but this is a different design and I have learned something since my last attempt. I intend to do this correct this time. The cup and lid I did this weekend is a good start. The wood has a lot of color and figure, which I did not expect when I started.

Sometimes the only real difference between reality and dreams, is that dreams do not follow logic. Consider someone who is not sure if he is in a long dream or something really strange is going on. He keeps being teleported from one point to another, just as he starts to get a handle on what is going on. It will take him some time to recognize when a teleport beam locks onto him, and even longer to figure out how to avoid being teleported. Some times he does not want to stay where he is.
The question is whether it is reality or controlled dreaming. If it is reality, he could be under a drug, or disoriented by effect of the teleport.
Which ever way you choose to handle what he is suffering, The things he does, especially opposite what he is supposed to in the scenes, is a win against the bad guys controlling him.

I think I might use that just for the fun of it.

As to the question of the day, I have to admit, I did not write this week.

Did you write?

Missed two days this week. Birthday and Father's Day. Good excuses, though.

I try to write everyday but Sunday. (Hubby and I catch up on the tv shows we've DVR'd.)

Best work seems to come after the kids are in bed (midnight on), but my tap tapping keeps my husband awake. Oh, the trials of a writer.

How did it get to be another week already? No. I didn't write. BUT I edited a lot, and that's a good thing.

The young adult novel got a workout.

My WotF entry got worked over.

My writing-based web site got plenty of attention as well.

It was a good week.

S!
S!...C!

No other place to put it. If I work in the kitchen, the kids would be in my face more than they are when it presently sits.

During school time (I homeschool) when they are doing silent work, I run into the same tap, tapping problem.

Maybe a good set of earplugs...

I managed a page of revision yesterday. Right now I'm totally bogged down with GCSE marking, but that'll be over in a few weeks and I can concentrate on finishing the wretched novel!

Sporadically, on the essay I've mentioned a couple of times. But it went well when I did work on it---it's about half finished.

A fair amount of life interfered with my writing---besides the usual such-and-such, a stomach ailment knocked me out from Saturday night on. It's cooled down now, some.

Yes. I finished a short story, started three flash pieces and worked behind the scenes on my novel. A productive week idea-wise.

Sigh, no.

Real life intervened. Our foreign student from Germany left. She's been here almost a year and I've been going around sort of numb, missing the fourth part of the household. Then, I took a class in motorcycles. I have my license to ride one now and have to go out and practice on my motorscooter. In fact, that's what I'm going to do as soon as I finish reading through here.

I am going to get back to work probably starting Thursday.
