I thought this might be a good idea. Let's start a list of short phrased conflicts that would serve as major or minor plot elements.

huckster gets duped when he sells a bag of spell components and shortly after the coins he recieved melt in his coin purse.

The better he wrote his stories, the more real they start to became. He wonders. What if he becomes good enough to be published, his ultimate dream of life. Would he unleash all sorts of horrors onto the world.

I agree, conflicts with context. Rags or riches, love or rejection, life or death, honor or scandal, safety or jeopardy . . .
