So I'm not sure how much people follow author/agent/editor blogs online, but I ran across this on Nathan Bransford's blog (http://nathanbransford.blogspot.com/) and thought I'd pass it on.

Basically, he's running a contest in which readers get to pretend they're agents, going through a slush pile of queries. You can submit queries to the contest, as well as pretend to be an agent. The point is to pick out the most sellable manuscripts from the queries (I think these will be from mss that have already been published).

Anyway, it looked like fun and helpful for anyone in that query-writing phase.

Yep, big thumbs up, he does write a great blog. There's a wealth of useful advice there if you're willing to do a little searching. Same for many of the other sites he's linked on his Agent/Editor blogs list.

Looks as if he's found a surefire way to burn through his backlog without having to throw away several dozen hours spent in sorting ^^. Really though it sounds like a fun idea.
