I might risk appearing ignorant but I'll have to ask, sorry if this particular question has been asked before.

http://www.baen.com/FAQS.htm#Manuscript%20Submission%20Guidelines

Here I am browsing the net and at various instances I see sites, blogs etc. say how Baen actually prefers e-submissions.
Now they say that they don't but they still retain all guidelines at their site (which are specific for e-subs).

Has anyone more specific information here? Any experiences working with Baen?

(By the way I am very saddened that Jim Baen's Universe is going to be closed...)

Baens Universe is closing. They have however left open their slush forum. So you can still post a story for submission just for the critique value.

Of course, I haven't surfed on that site for awhile, so I may be off on my assumptions.

Where do they say they don't? The line in their submission guidelines that says, "We no longer accept submissions by email. Too much spam," is not saying that they do not take electronic submissions. It merely means that you cannot email the electronic submission; you are supposed to upload the manuscript to their website using the form they link to.

Seems like I misunderstood.

Thank you for pointing it out!
