Well, I won't have to send a query next week. The response came in the mail today.
The letter was a form rejection, but there was a handwritten note at the bottom. Specifically, she says, in part:

I'm having trouble figuring this out. Really. The sample was the first three chapters. That's through the first attempt to kill Crystal.
Of those of you who've read it (Kitti, OWASM), can you think back and help me with this? This part hasn't changed significantly (a few minor tweaks is all) from the first draft. I thought it was pretty clear.
The only real action in that part is the assasination attempt and Valeriah's chase.
Anyone out there willing to read the first three chapters (about 40 pages) and help me see what she means?
I'm really at a loss on this one.

I'll be honest with you, i haven't really read your posts thoroughly (with your fiction),except... maybe that query letter a long time ago, but i'd like a shot at whatever pages you're willing to give.
