Think you can tell a story in 140 characters (including spaces)? A new rolling competition for haiku-like stories. Check out the rules, but basically:

1. Entries must be exactly 140 characters including spaces.
2. Titles of 4 words or less.
3. Vote for your top 3 of the previous 10 entries. (err...just mine at present!)
4. Post your entry.

Simples.

Give it a try.

Is this one of those "this is a published story" things or is it more like, really just a tweet?

Not sure what you are asking. If you publish a complete story on line then its first publication rights have been used...

The competition is shaping up nicely. Some sweet entries. Who knew you could write something entertaining in with 140 characters?

I got the idea from Shimmer; they were paying something like $5 for each one they published!

I'm referring to #5 of the "all the colors" competition.

5. Be aware that any story posted here has been posted in its entirety and is therefore considered published (you will have used up your 1st publication rights).

Uh, yeah it's the same.

There's more than one "twitfic" market out there (Thaumatrope is the only one I subbed to, though I never heard back from them). And some short stories have been done as a kind of tweet-serial; possibly even a whole novel...
