Eric James Stone won a Nebula Award for his novelette 'That Leviathan, Whom Thou Hast Made'.

Eric is a WOTF winner and still sticks his head in at Hatrack occasionally, but with this win he has officially become HUGE!

Always good to see familiar faces succeeding.

Just simply wow.

Enjoy

So since Eric has come around to read this,

I will add my Congrats...Nice going.

But I'm curious was his story published some place first or did he just put it on Amazon?

The story first appeared in Analog. Not sure what the issue was, though.

Fantastic!
Especially great as the Nebula is acknowledgement from your professional writing peers of the SFWA.
Mazel tov, Eric.

Respectfully,
Bob

I believe it was first published in ANalog.

He beat out another Hatracker to the award, as well - Aliette , who had an Asimov's story in that category, used to be a member here.

Awesome Eric! Congrats!!

Awesome. Congrats to both Aliette and Eric. I'm sure this is only a stepping stone to even bigger things in the future.

Also I noticed that Maryrobinette was up for best novel. Three Hatrackers on the ballot means something I think.

Out of how many though?

But that still bodes well for many here.

It was an honor to see Eric take the prize. Especially since he didn't expect it. He hoped, but did not expect. And when they read his name, you could see the astonishment on his face. A real treat. Well done, Eric! Truly, Utah's premiere writer of short science fiction and fantasy. The deal is sealed.

Ditto.

Eric writes some amazing stuff, and he sells a bunch of it for a buck by e-reader. There are even more he gives out free. Check out his website (http://www.ericjamesstone.com/blog/home) whenever you need an uplift from the unpublished doldrums.

Again, congratulations!

Guys, I think "Leviathan" was first published in Analog's September 2010 issue.

Eric, I'll bother you to sign my copy the next time you're in town. Congratulations on the win!

BIG CONGRATS! - you are an inspiration to those of us still trying to rise above the fray.

Congratulation, Eric. You can now consider yourself part of the elite in SF. (Whatever that's worth... )
