Those are excellent tips for writing, particularly the first one about logical causation. Causation fallacies slam plot movement into neutral, a standstill, or worse, into reverse. Logical causation is the coal stoking a plot freight train's fire box.
Two of the causal fallacies I encounter often: Cum hoc, ergo procter hoc; with this, therefore because of this. Post hoc, ergo procter hoc; after this, therefore because of this.
Temporal nor spatial correlation imply causal correspondence.
