Yes, it's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I did a little less writing this week than previous weeks, but that's purely because I finished the novel I was writing for Camp NaNo, Where The Ether Flows. The final tally for the book is 77,719 words, not bad for a first draft. I edited a short story that I got some valuable feedback on, and then all hell broke loose in my brain. I was going to take a rest and do some other editing for the next couple of weeks, give my creative brain a sort of break (low gear, close enough for me), but that went out the window as the ideas for the sequel, All Stitched Up, coalesced in my notes and mind and demanded I start working on it. I wrote about 8k-worth of outline over the weekend, and will be continuing to work on that until I'm done. Then I'm going to try to hold off on starting to write it until August 1st. I'll let you know how that goes. [Wink]

Oh, and a few blog posts plus a couple of photography trips to boot. Busy week for me in many respects last week.

How about you?

Yes, I did write. I finished up the edit and formatting for "The Music Box" and got it up on Smashwords. I did revision notes for the beginning of MAGIC'S APPRENTICE. And now I'm back at work on THE BARD'S GIFT.

Plus two blog posts.

Oh, Meredith. We know *you* wrote, unless Gabriel blew his horn and somehow we missed it.

I continue to shade in some scenes in *The Keystone* based on robertq's feedback. He's getting a little impatient with all the romance stuff.

I skipped the last "Did you Write" threads but I have been.

Since the last one I posted on I worked some on a steampunk story...actually two but the second includes something in the paranormal I haven't seen for a while.

Wrote on Angel Kin, Stone Within, and revised various chapters of Two Struggles. Three and three fourths more to go but as I was reading C. E. Murphy's latest Walker papers series I think there's something missing. She is one of two UF writers I want badly to be like--in storytelling ability. (No the other one isn't Jim Butcher even though he should be one). Makes me want to pace the room and see if I can figure out how to add what is missing. I have a scene that is coming up I can change a tad but I may have to go back and make a few minute changes here and there.

Revised a couple of stories...I'm pushing my self imposed limit on revisions with one of them.

Added posts here, and on two other forums. A couple of E-mails.

And maybe up to three posts at http://musingsofle.blogspot.com

Was a slow week for me, out for a 5 day weekend vacation with the family. But yes I did write at the end. Started and finished a quick story and even submitted it. Hoping to return back to editing the novel this week though, in between new writing that pops up to keep my mind fresh.

I wrote this week. A single chapter but... that's something.

I brought my revisions on my latest story to a conclusion---leaving me out on a limb. I'll just have to come up with some idea in the next few days, or dust off an old one, and start something.

Of course, now that this draft is finished, I can't say I'm overfond of the story. Needs some more work---one thing I do is have the characters sing to each other. I used one particular 1960s song---but that won't do at all for something I intended to submit to market. Copyring problems and securing permissions, y'know. What I can get away with in Internet Fan Fiction I can't with this. I've been intending to write some (brief) original lyrics myself and insert them in the story, but just haven't buckled down and done it.
