It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I've managed to finish another few chapters in my first round of editing Where The Ether Flows, which doesn't sound like a lot until I realize that it involved adding about 6k words to the book [Eek!] Import stuff, needed to be put in, but wow. This also puts me at the halfway point for the edit, which isn't a bad place to be, really.

I also got some feedback on the latest (and possibly last) revision of Bound. I'm waiting to hear back from my other test reader before I decide, but I think I'm about ready to get the cover done, the book formatted and put it out there. Scared and exhilarated don't cover the feelings I have on this.

I made some notes on seven of my back burner projects too. The frightening part is that doesn't even constitute all of them. Maybe half, maybe not even that many.

Also some blog posts done.

I think that's most of it. Now back to the editing. I'm loving how this one is shaping up and I want to keep going with it.

While I'm at that, how about everyone else? How did you do this week?

-Julie

Yes, I did. Mostly plugging away at the first draft of THE BARD'S GIFT.

Also some crits and two blog posts.

About 10K words. I wanted more, but I had to attend a business conference.

Wow, um, I wrote 1875 words today, and I thought I was doing pretty good. If I write at least 1300 words a day every day, I'll have my rough draft finished before I start seminary. The draft is currently 20,962.

Last week I said I wrote a page on a typewriter, that I hated so much that two ideas bubbled up out of my subconscious.

Well, I didn't get around to working on either of them till Sunday, and then I just did some notes and a beginning---on the computer and wordprocessing program, in the traditional manner, not that newfangled typewriter thing---but it seemed to go well enough and I expect to return to it shortly.

(The other story I mentioned, well, it exists somewhere on one of my diskettes in three-fourths-finished draft, and, thanks to my cleaning-up in my office last year, I filed them and don't remember which box I put them in and I have to dig through them and see if I can find it. But the same evil forces that prevent me from working on the one story prevent me from that, too...)

still no writing at all. I think I have come up with ten total story ideas since the accident.

I am now walking with a cane and am getting around, but my knee is not being good so it will take time to get the knee strong.

I still have not transportation so I am still living with my mom. I don't like typing on her computer. Because of that, I will continue to be scarce here.

rstegman: Sorry to hear that. I pray your recovery is smooth and free of complications.

Yep, wrote, edited and submitted. Wrote 2 new stories this week and redid a 3rd. So overall pretty happy with the week.

Rstegman, good to see you on the road to recovery. I wish you a speedy journey and many ideas during your absence. *hugs*

I chose which ending I liked for my short story (after some feedback) and submitted it last Thursday. Cross your fingers with me that it's deemed good enough for publication.

Also did considerable work on my novel. I don't count words, but wrote a nice new scene as well as filled in some others and made some notes for problems to solve in upcoming weeks. Onward, ever onward!

Brushing up outline of new post-apocalyptic book, and fleshed out 7K of the big event scenes. Wanted to do more. Argh.
