It's a long weekend here in my neck of the woods, so I thought I'd post this earlier than usual.

It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

For my part, I finally finished the first round of edits on Where The Ether Flows on Saturday. Yay, go me. And, true to who I am, I only managed to take two hours off before I was tweaking my outline for the next book, which I'd planned to write for Camp NaNo-August. I finished that on Sunday morning and got started writing because, you know, who needs time off? I cranked out 4200 words as Curiosity landed on Mars, then went to bed, science fiction dancing in my head. [Smile]

I did some note-taking on ideas that are in the percolation process, but no new ones appeared. That's okay, I'm trying to catch up anyway, a daunting prospect every time I look at my file of ideas.

Also some blog posts and meeting fabulous new people on twitter.

So I've definitely been writing, on every front, in fact.

How about you? Did you write?

I've written 6800 painful words in my rougher-than-rough draft for Camp NaNoWriMo. I'd feel accomplished if I weren't a good 3000 words behind schedule.

Sigh... Time to turn on Freedom...

Yes, I did. Mostly on the first draft of THE BARD'S GIFT. Also some revisions on MAGE STORM.

Plus two blog posts.

I wrote, but I feel like I didn't write enough. Things have been busy here, and it's hard to get things done. I'm gearing up to go to seminary, but I don't know yet if I've been accepted, and move-in's this Friday! So I've got stress and a long to-do list that tends to get in the way.

I am DONE! Finished. Ich bin fertig! Today my 10,400 word story is done. It's had 5 complete, major revisions. I have lost track of the files and false starts. Characters have come and gone, evolved from villain to rescued victim, from lover to sister to gone, from martyr to traitor to gone. The setting evolved from a snowy mountain valley to a desert plateau, from a ghost town to a thriving frontier town. The plot changed from a search and rescue mission to an Old West quasi-zombie apocalypse to a bank heist to a tale of revenge and vengeance. For those who say an artist is never really finished I have but one reply. I must not be an artist because I AM DONE. Done. Done. Done. Few words sound as sweet as "done."

My writing has been relegated to rewriting my novel. I guess that counts. I bumped up the wordcount by 1,200 words this week.

Well, after illness in the family (serious), followed by illness of my own (not serious...I hope)...I couldn't get time or (later) energy to write anything.
