It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

Stil working on not starting my NaNo novel early. I was very much slowed down last week by a combination of a couple unusually late nights at work and going to a wedding in another city over the weekend. I did get some editing done, but not a lot. Mostly it was notes. This was a bit of a double-edged sword for me. I thought I had my next project figured out, but a very different project is now screaming to be written. I've made a ton of notes for it and started an Outliner document for it. It's developing fast in my brain and it may end up being my next project after all. We'll see, but I'm feeling incredibly torn at the moment.

Beyond that, yet another project has been developing, but that one at least is being patient. That's good because I'll be lucky if I can get to that next year. [Razz]

I did a few blog posts including the cover reveal for the first novel I'm going to publish. Now that I have the final feedback in on that, I can inch closer to getting that out there. A task for the coming week.

How about you? Did you write?

I went through a rewrite on a novel and added nearly 4,000 words -- it was a little light on word count so I added a new character.

Editing counts and, including the above, I spent about 30 hours doing rewrites and covers for the second and third volumes of a women's adventure series.

Received comments/critiques for my October novelette The Witch's Curse from Denevius, Grumpy, Lizluka, and my self-pubbed author father (thank you all). More are welcome if anyone else has interest.

Started writing my (hopefully) November story yesterday (a new one rather than a WIP), only 1000 words so far, but fully outlined: an alternate WWII history space murder mystery with questions regarding Man, artificial men, and the soul.

Respectfully,
Dr. Bob

Yes, I did write. Mostly still revisions to BLOOD IS THICKER. Also a possible prologue for THE BARD'S GIFT.

Also a few crits and two blog posts.

I kept it up, five hundred words a day---then went away for a couple of days (a vacation within my stay-cation)---then wrote on the night of the day I got back---and wrote the last segment of the thing I was working on. Since then, nothing, though I have plans for work on other things.

Ah, if only I liked what I wrote enough to go back to it later...I'll let it simmer for some months and see how I feel about it then.

Yes, I did. But I'm not a happy camper at the moment. Struck down by a huge dose of writer's angst. Grrrrr.

Having written chapter 1 of 'magician' I floundered with a few hundred words on chapter 2. Started to outline whole book, and have about 50% (not sequential) sorted and feeling a lot more confident about going back to chapter 2. So quiet week in terms of words on the page, but feels good in terms of overall progress made.

Next week will be tricky though as kids on hols and we're going away for a few days with them to London and will be trying to fit 5 days work into 2!! Must. Be. Disciplined...
