It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I finishing my NaNo novel a few days early. The final count was 107,615, though I expect that to grow in editing, partly because I'm not sure I'm happy with the ending. Ah well, a problem for another day, one sometime in the new year.

I've already been working on the outline for my next book, Unmasked, the first in my next project, a quartet currently going by the name Masques. The MC, Cayle, has been quite insistent since mid-October, and I'll admit, his story has serious potential. I got a little over 9200 words of outline written, probably have another 3-5k left to do.

I did a few blog posts and had a couple of new story ideas, one more developed than the other.

I think that's about it for me. How about everyone else? Did you write?

I wrote a little.

Outlined a non-fiction book and continued to work on my next novel. Word-wise only a few thousand. My two-week-long cold kept the motivation low.

Yes, I wrote. Completed a revision to "Becoming Lioness", to be e-published soon, started the third draft of THE BARD'S GIFT, to be ready for readers in January, and started on the query for TBG.

Also one crit and two blog posts.

Had a lo-o-ong stretch of work and was on call this very busy weekend. I've today off to recover.

However...

I reviewed the critiques I received (always so disparate!) and I am 99% finished with my Novemeber novelette revision that I'll be sending through the gauntlet at WOTF.

I wrote 2k of my December short (I hope, but doubt) story.

And I continued my too slow critique of a fine fellow Hatracker's fine novel.

Respectfully,
Dr. Bob

Zilch. I worry about when I retire and have more time to write---but will I?

Yes. You will.
I'm certain I will.
Two days ago my brother suddenly announced he sold his dentist practice and is retiring. I am so happy for him and envious (and a just a bit jealous). So much to write and so little time.

Respectfully,
Dr. Bob

Yes, wrote a few thousand words and getting closer and closer to lighting the fuse where everything eventually goes bang.

Robert, you will write when you are ready to. Forcing the words results in hack-work, not prose. Close your eyes and imagine the words on the page . . . imagine the character speaking them to you.

Phil.

Came up with ten one-paragraph short story ideas for my file and started outlining one of them. Things will be hectic the next week or two, then I'm looking forward to a mad dash towards my end-of-year goals the last two weeks of December.

I am a pro-crastinator, I am not an amateur.

I am editing my Demon's lure story, correcting sentances, correcting information, filling in holes in the story. I added 300 words to it. I should have done a whole lot more but it is easy to find other things to do.

On not writing much...I have ways of teasing my subconscious into coming up with the goods, but it doesn't seem to be necessary yet---it's just a pretty crowded schedule, or so it seems.

Right now I'm halfway through something where I know how I intend it to come out, so that's no problem. I've also got another story complete to go, revised and everything, except I need to buckle down and write a piece of poetry / song lyric to fit into a particular couple of sequences. (I really should have gotten back to that by now.)

Yep I did.

On my NaNo novel and two others. Started and almost finished the epilogue for the NaNo novel.

Worked on the revision of my Q1 story.

Wrote various posts here and on the WotF forum.

And two posts for my blog
