It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I spent most of the week outlining what was supposed to be a novella and then writing it. Only I think it's presently more of a long short story at 17.5k words. We'll see what editing brings. I already have one person eager to beta read based on concept alone, which was exciting, especially since she was the one who sparked the idea in the first place.

I also went through that almost 17k outline for Unmasked and did the final tweaks and screw-tightening. Tonight, I start it, beginning another round of personal NaNo. I know it's only a couple weeks or so after NaNo, but I've never let that stop me. Besides, I'm on vacation from the day job from Thursday to the end of the year. Assuming we don't have the apocalypse, I should be able to at least get most of the way through it in that time. [Smile]

Other than that, there were a few blog posts, and some work on getting the print edition of my debut novel, which went live on Amazon on Saturday.

Now, to turn the question around. How about everyone else? Did you write?

Yes, I wrote. Finished the third draft of THE BARD'S GIFT and started some of the delayed revisions to MAGE STORM.

Also a crit and two blog posts.

Yes indeed.

I wrote on my WIPs and on my NaNo novel adding to it.

Started a new story, finished the revision of my Q1 story, worked on the assignment for Dean's Online Workshop, wrote a few posts and E-mails.

Yep, a few posts here, started a short story for WotF, wrote 2,500 words and then realised it'd make a great novel. managed to find another short story idea to take its place.

Yes. Some of everything--revision, new stuff, practice. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow so that I can finish a novel outline:)

Not much. Been a bit overwhelmed recently.

Only a few hundred words of a new tale (perhaps more today), and a revision of The Witch's Curse (which was just rejected for an anthology). Don't know what to do with it now.

There are very few markets for stories between 10-20k in length (especially the cross-genre type I write) and this tale is definitely not young adult WOTF material.

I'm beginning to have a nice stack of unsalable stories collecting dust.

I think I'll try to finish the four I have that are in process or even near completion, and then try my hand at another novel. Or stop for a time, catch up on my reading (both for pleasure and research), and let my personal creative juices simmer.

Respectfully,
Dr. Bob

Managed to eke out five hundred words on Thursday...then things got busy...the real kind of busy, and not the "I'm avoiding writing" kind of busy.

Working in the big fight scene in Demon's lure. I added another page so it is now 20 pages, 10115 word. that is an addition of 433 words with several paragraphs removed as they no longer applied.

I doubt the fight scene is right. I know it is better, but it still may suck.

Finished painting my first batch of 20 Christmas cards and just added the first color to my second batch.
