It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I did some editing on a short story this week, then had to write a new one for another short deadline. That happened on Sunday, and I managed to take a story from nothing to finished 1772 word draft in 6 hours. I was kind of impressed.

I'm building my next novel, What Lies Beneath, at the same time. I'm making some notes, but also working on the outline as I go, and figuring out subplots. In a way, it's going to be a scary book to write, but it's going to be worth it if I get it right.

I had a couple of new story ideas and made a few blog posts.

That's about it for me. How about you? Did you write?

Yes, I did. Mostly still revisions on THE BARD'S GIFT. I did write the synopsis for it, too. And some notes for a future story when I finally get out of revisionville. [Smile]

Plus a couple of crits and two blog posts.

Yet another washout. I was going to take another tack on that "poem" thing I've been blathering about these past weeks, but got held up by mundane concerns.

Might be another case of writer's block. I may have to take some action to break it sometime soon...mention in another thread of my old method of generating titles and ideas seems like something to pursue, and I might do that, sometime real soon...

I added a page to my WIP. I needed to add some action to a scene and that changed some other scenes and now I am following notes my writing partner and I created and am making changes from near the beginning onword. I still have not gotten to the end of the story, but I have to make these changes for the final battle to sound plausible.

20,000 words on my novel and another 500 on my non-fiction book. Critiqued another writer's novel, as well.

I wrote about 1,000 words on a story that wasn't going anywhere. I knew it wasn't going anywhere, but I kept writing. Then last night, something clicked. Yes, I'll need to scrap 90%, but I saw the whole story, saw how to fix it, and I am looking forward to this weekend.
