It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.
Only one piece of drafting for me, a flash fiction, so less than 1k, but lots of other stuff to do. Revised one manuscript based on editorial notes. Crits for three separate pieces plus the some work on the novel I'm going over for a friend.
I've begun making heavy notes on my next novel, the sequel to my April Camp NaNo story, and I can see it starting to come together, with some for the final book in that trilogy too. It's nice to see them taking shape.
A couple new story ideas came up over the week and as always, some blog posts.
That's about it for me. How about you? Did you write?

I actually started something new...Wednesday, I wrote five hundred words of exposition, hoping a plot and characters would emerge as I wrote...they did, and I wrote five hundred more words each on Saturday and Sunday. I've also been trying to apply the lessons learned by reading the "Managing Show and Tell Mischiefs" thread. And now that my "stay-cation" has started---this morning---I've got more time to work.
I did learn one thing. Wednesday went so well I was going to work on Thursday. But at the end of my day Thursday (about one PM because of my job hours), I found myself staring at the screen for five minutes, without even the energy to bring up my new story. I was exhausted.
So what I did Saturday and Sunday was move writing to the front of the line---I did it before I did any web-surfing or hanging around here or elsewhere. So it came before full exhaustion hit.
Now that I'm on "stay-cation," I can rest, rest, rest...and hopefully write, write, write...

A week or so ago, I sent my new opening scene to a story to my writing partner. I had written the action first, then added in more details and situation into that. Well, my writing partner complained about how distracting my "action" was. I first rewrote the opening scene to make it real action, and then zapped out a lot of the "action" of the first part and added more information. I then built onto my second half action to make it a bit more believable. It still needs work. In all, I took it from about 550 words to 750 words. Still needs work but better.
