It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I most definitely wrote. I was off most of the week for a 5-day writing bonanza weekend. I wrote 55,468 words and the most magical two. The End. Yup, finished my Camp NaNo novel, From Heights We Fall. Final tally was 150,604 words, my longest novel to date by a fair bit. I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out in general and a couple of chapters especially so. Let's hope I still feel that way when I come back to do the first round of revisions. [Wink]

Beyond that, I've made notes for a few separate projects and started making serious notes on the next book, the final in the trilogy I was just working on. A few new ideas popped up along the way as well and I diligently made notes on them too.

That's it for me. What about you? Did you write?

A little.

Congratulations on writing "The End". [Smile]

As for me, yes, I wrote.

Mostly I've been playing with a rewrite of THE SHAMAN'S CURSE (from the way back machine). A little bit on my weird Oz story, but I'm still not sure that's completely ripe, yet.

Also a couple of crits and two blog posts.

Congratulations on writing "the end," I reached that point not too long ago (but I didn't actually write "The End," just did the ol' ###.)

I wrote, and will write again, on my collaborative short story, while tinkering with the idea for my next novel and the Dark Crystal sotry.

Still in my enforced time-out...progress in making notes and outlining and rereading somewhat blunted by being dreadfully sick from Thursday night through Saturday. I think I've found a place to begin the book anew...some rewriting and reframing necessary...and, of course, I still have what comes next firmly in mind, as well as the end of it all...

Just a bit for me. Perhaps a couple thousand words.

I almost fell for the relieved shut-down trap.

After publishing a novella last week, I was seriously considering taking a short break from writing so I could kick back and simply enjoy the Universe for a while. Except...my definition of 'short break' sometimes forgets to acknowledge the 'short' part, so I chose to dive right back into my works in progress.

Glad I did. I solved a major plot problem for one story, worked out a few temporal 'laws' for another, and cranked out at least 3K words for my next YA story.

Yeah, I wrote.

S!

I have difficulty figuring out what qualifies as "new" text. I keep going back and not only tweaking stuff, but sometimes adding in whole new scenes.

Chapter 12 + 1 (I'm superstitious) is now holding (until I finish going through my mail)at 4822 words.

Hmmm...is 12 + 1 a chapter I started since our last check-in here?

I did! I've written the first draft of what I hope to turn into a first chapter for a novel that I can attach all of these random scenes to.

The goal for this week is to get the first chapter spruced up a bit so that I can post it for feedback! Since I haven't really written creatively in so long. [Smile]

Wish me luck.
