Another week to brag about your successes, cry about your failures, and otherwise tell about what is going on in your life.

what is writing is a matter of opinion. some people think that only new writing is writing. Others accept that editing is also writing. Some thing that only stories count while others accept blogging, BBS posts, even E-mails might be writing if they are wordy and pertain to story or writing. Poetry, even a very short poem can be writing. It comes down to "whatever you decide is writing, is writing.

AS for me, the only writing I did this week was my wood working diary post which was five pages. I learned long ago that one has to accumulate free time to write sometimes. You get necessary things done during the beginning of the week and when they are done, one ends up with some free time. For some, there is more free time than others. It is a matter of what has more importance of the moment. It looks like in the next week or two, my free time will come.

As to the question of the day, I can say,
Well sort of.

did you write?

Yes. I am still working on the first draft of WAR OF MAGIC, DUAL MAGICS BOOK 4.

Back earlier than I expected.

What I said on the other thread. Started Wednesday, and things seemed to flow...then down with a cold and shut down again.

As of today, I can officially say yes. Finally revisited Ravenous today.

I'd been thinking about what GOG said in the Winter challenge, and I decided to see how it would affect Ravenous if I changed the story to third person/past tense (as opposed to first person/present tense, which is what all previous incarnations of the story have been). I need to do a second proof-read to make sure I didn't miss any perspective or tense changes, but I managed to get through my initial sweep of the document in one day. The changes didn't lessen the emotional impact of the story nearly as much as I'd feared it would. (Honestly, it didn't really change the story for me at all, but that may just be because this is draft five and I know the damn thing by heart.)

I'm not going to resurrect my old thread to post yet another first thirteen; I think it's best to let that go by the wayside at this point. I did end up making some edits that theoretically cleaned up the beginning, though (skipped past waking up and straight to the discovery of Bad Things). I also tightened up part of a scene that I realized was bogging down the middle of the story. Those were the only non-cosmetic changes I felt the need to make, though.

Hopefully, this will clear my head for the possibility of new stories in the near future.
