The title (sorry forgot to put it as the subject)

Journey of a Thousand Miles

Wanted: Someone to proof the first twenty pages of my fiction novel.

As it stands now it is 4439 words long.

The general premise is, as stated before, three men from three very different backgrounds find themselves becoming friends.

Each man's past is intertwined by acts of violence either bestowed upon them or someone they love.

The story is about how each one will coms to terms with each others past once revealed, after they have been put to the test.

If you're interested please email and I'll give you more information.

Thanks...

pal...

Palaytiasdreams, if you would like to post a synopsis here (or outline, or summary, or however you want to think about it), please go ahead. The 13-line rule doesn't apply to such things, only to the actual text which might be published someday.

Pal,

I wouldn't mind reading it and letting you know what I think. I'll be out of town for the weekend, but if you email it to me I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Jo

Thanks so much for all your help. I'm leaving tomorrow morning to do some "research" for one of the characters. I'm goint to take part in one of the longest US Military trek (only I'm going to do about forty miles and not the 2000 some the others are) that was done back in 1846.

So think of me while I'm out here in the Midwest in my long dress and pantaloons (okay maybe don't think of those) hiking with my eleven year old and seventeen year old.

I'll be back Sunday sometime with a much better appreciation of all things mundane and a new focus on my story.

Until then, I'll send what I have so far later tonight after biscuits are made and hobo dinners are wrapped.

Thanks again.

Pal...pondering who else is so dedicated (or nuts) to go so far for a character...

Is that the one from near Omaha, Nebraska to San Diego, California, Palaytiasdreams? I hadn't heard about any reinactment of that march, and I would have thought I would have heard something about it. What group is doing it, and which 40 miles are you doing?

That's the one. Only they started in Iowa.

We're hiking from Chase, KS to Great Bend. You can follow the trek online.

Yes, I see from your post in another topic that it's a Battalion reinactment. My father was involved with the modern group while he was alive--he served as acting commander at one point, but he enjoyed being the historian more.

Thanks for letting me know about this. And enjoy your experience.
