Wait for the critiques of the first three chapters to come back so I can make a decision on whether it really should be YA. So far, the one critique that's come back agrees that it should be YA.

Continue the revisions for the third draft. Get to chapter 11.

Mainstream novel: I’ve been alternating between writing new scenes and editing current passages. Essentially, I’m working on whatever I feel like working on at the time.

"Agents of the Fourth Wind" (SF): It’s been nearly a month since I’ve touched the actual words of this story, but I’ve been slowly piecing together certain aspects of what I feel will be the pivotal scene.

UPCOMING WEEK
"Metzgerhund Empire" (YA): Continue work on the last few scenes of the last chapter, and rewrite the agent query letter.

Mainstream novel: Business as usual.

"Agents of the Fourth Wind" (SF): Continue my technical research. One of these days, I might actually write an actual sentence or two.

NOTES
Two of my science fiction short stories, and one mainstream short story, currently reside on the desks and/or slush piles of various editors.

I'm working on a brand new SF short story, and my projections tell me I will be finished with it a few months after the Mayan calendar says we're all going to die.

I've taken two of my SF short stories out of circulation, and am preparing them for a radical makeover of sorts.

I envy those of you who have the discipline to get something written everyday.

Alright. Enough kvetching.
This week's modest goals: I have a few hours this weekend and two days off next week to further the second act of The Golem of Chester Court. I also wish to conduct research on modern Yemen and expand the story outline I wrote this week for a Ludlum/LeCarre-like novel extrapolated from recent events. The latter is a collaboration with my 81 year-old father, who has written seven mysteries -- and who is retired and has the time to research and write!

I want to be just like him when I grow up.

I did good this week. My goal was to finish chapter three and write Monday through Friday. While I didn't write Monday through Friday I did finish chapter three, but it is mostly because of a conference call with Kevin J. Anderson and his 11 tips. By the end of the call I was so motivated to write that I sat down and wrote the whole rest of chapter three in one hour. Yay!
 

I see that a couple of members of this here group, have not worked on WIPs.

I have a couple I would like to finihsh.

One is a UF novel, actually my first UF novel idea, I think four chapters. Things are set up for the main bad guy, and the troubles my MC and his wife are having but for some reason I haven't work on it for months.

Then there's a space opera I am working on chapter six. Part of that problem may be I have gone too far off what I envisioned the story to be. That has created a writer's blog before. But I would have to go back and check on where I left the "road".

And lastly there's a fantasy novel I'm almost done with. Maybe three/fourths to ninety percent done. Part of the problem might be is that I've learned a lot about writing(supposedly) and I would have to go back and redo over half of the novel. That's true for the space opera also. In that one there could be three types of writing in it. Supposedly each type would be an improvement on the pervious type. Someday I do want to finish all three.

But not this month. And not while working on my other WIPs, two of which I will finish in the next couple of months, after I start them up again in Dec.

I want to start writing chapter 1 December 1st, so will be working with that in mind.
 

I've been so distracted by other things in life that I have barely thought of writing. I have little else to say. With the holidays approaching I can *hope* I will have more time, but often that just makes things busier.
