I received a great crit on my psycho killer novel which has caused me to go back to the beginning and look at it with new eyes.

So - I'm editing again. But it's write/editing, so I'm happy.

Short week for me this week. I revised my three scenes, and cut the word count to 120,364.

I'm going to be on vacation for a week and a half, so no writing goals for this week. I do have a reading goal, though. I'm planning on voting on the Hugos by the end of the month, so in the meantime I'm reading as many nominees as humanly possible. I'm down to the 5 novellas, 2 graphic stories, and 2 Campbell nominees (and if I finish, I'll tackle the short form editors). Good thing I read fast.

And of course, I'm taking 50 pages with me in case I find time/inspiration to revise

Made goals beginning of last week then decided I just had too much going on to write. I planned to take about a month off until kids were back in school and parents were all moved in but I couldn't stay away.

Starting to add scenes to the Pea's Curse. Goal to have it up to 70k within two weeks.

Finally getting to this.

Worked a bit on New Mage.

Revised chapter one of "Storm Born" and sent it t three very nice volunteer readers.

Worked a bit on "Angel Kin" Need to start chapter four but not sure where to take her-- as in what should be MC do next.

Started a new novel-- not sure when I will work on it after the first chapter but I felt the need to go with the idea that came to mind. Another UF - wizard is hundred years old- twenty something- but just now "Blooming". He decides he should be helping people so becomes a security consultant; that is PI and body guard. Right now he's in a battle trying to protect a client. I think the client is a fey who for some reason can't use his own powers.

Sent out chapter five of Bright Lights to be critted. This morning thought of a new way to do part of a certain battle scene in the ending--hopefully make it even more dramatic and bit more questionable about if she survives.

My goals are to work n chapter two of "Storm Born", start chapter four of "Angel Kin" and finish that battle scene in the new one. It's taken me three days and it's only half to one page. Keep changing things and trying to get around was-s and -ing words. And redo that scene in Bright Lights

I'm new, and earlier this summer I finished the fourth rewrite of a YA fantasy/sci-fi novel called The Survivors that I've been working on (on and off) for a long while. Now I'm trying to get it to the point where I feel good submitting it.

My goals for the rest of the year are to get the current version critiqued, finish another version, research agents, write a summary and query letter, and then stop being a sissy and submit it.
