Last Week's Goals:

FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS): Send out three queries.
Yes.

BLOOD WILL TELL: Read some more about marketing.
Not so much reading, but I did do a new, much better cover. That counts.

BLOOD IS THICKER: Five chapters would be through Chapter 9.
Not close. I just don't have a lot of enthusiasm for this project right now. Still on Chapter 5.

THE BARD'S GIFT: Let it rest.
Easy one.

MAGE STORM: Get some reader feedback.
Proceeding.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. And I submitted a flash to the Halloween Challenge. That's only the second flash I've ever written.

Next Week's Goals:

Goals from Last Week

Publish PANIX - Done
Write 6,000s word in Brull novel
Start final rewrite for EGYPT: TROUBLE WITH TEMPLES - Done
Stretch: Get DAUGHTER DISINHERITED into Desktop Publishing Program - Done, but not much further.

Goals for This Week

Publish EGYPT: TROUBLE WITH TEMPLES with new cover
Work on DAUGHTER DISINHERITED
Write 6,000 words in Brull novel

LAST WEEK

• TOP NOTCH: finish the second Olympic event - I didn’t exactly finish the second event, but instead I chose to spend some time tackling the more challenging third event.
• ORACLE OF SENTRY RIDGE: finish MC's fourth prophecy fulfillment scene - Not only did I complete this goal, I’m almost finished the *fifth* prophecy scene as well.
• (unnamed science fiction series): world building - Not as much as I wanted, but I did make progress.
• SCRIPTED: finish finalizing the individual story arcs - I finished the arcs I started out doing, but I came up with a brand new one that’s not quite to my liking. So, it’s a matter of perspective as to whether I completed this goal or not.

• IMPERIAL RULES: begin getting it ready for publication
• TOP NOTCH: finish either the second or third Olympic event scene
• ORACLE OF SENTRY RIDGE: have it ready for proofreading and critiques
• (unnamed science fiction series): continue world building
• SCRIPTED - finalize the individual story arcs

Well, I'll be completely honest. I've been working on some shorter projects and my novel is suffering. I will continue to focus on the short stuff this week, and then get back in the swing of things on the novel next week--promise. I worked too hard to get that first draft out. Can't let it die now!

I'm....... editing.

The good news is I feel like the first 25 pages are DONE.

I'm on page 120 of the edit and I'm certain things will blow up soon because I had a recent fact kinda sabotage a particular throughline.

However, I did go to Netflix and order an add'l movie a month then fill my Que with FBI and serial killer movies.

Hopefully no one pays attention to people's netflix ques.

Although I kinda did those out of order.

Thanks Kathleen. I'll admit I'm a little more daunted than I thought I would be by the prospect of revision. I just want to make sure that if I'm giving it a break it's because it needs it and not because I'm balking at learning a new skill

I might just take a cue from you and pick mine back up the first of November. Maybe instead of writing a novel for NaNoWriMo I can make it my goal to finish the first round of revisions. Also, I think I'm going to post a question about revisions over in the writing forum...Yep. Off to do it now. If any of you more experienced writers are of a mind to share, please feel free to chime in--I'd love to know what strategies you find helpful
