As for me.

Last Week's Goals:

MAGE STORM: Wait out the latest request and a couple of recent queries. After that, I'll probably try a small publisher.
Continuing to wait. [Frown]

MAGIC AND POWER: Work on tightening the first five chapters and on the query.
May be just about ready to start querying this one. [Smile]

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE: Plan for a July launch.
Yeah, this is where I always mess up. [Frown]

DREAMER'S ROSE: Pause, for now.
Easy one. [Smile]

THE IGNORED PROPHECY: Pause for now.
Nope. I've started back on this one. [Smile]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

MAGE STORM:
Wait out the latest request and a couple of recent queries. After that, I'll probably try a small publisher.

MAGIC AND POWER:
Send out a couple of queries.
CORRECTED: I need to do one of those evil synopses, first. [Frown]

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE:
Plan for a July launch.

DREAMER'S ROSE:
Pause, for now.

THE IGNORED PROPHECY:
Finish re-reading the progress to date and start forward.

WEIRD OZ:
This one is turning back up on my radar. I've finally started to get some new ideas on how to fix it. For now, just jot those ideas down as they come and let them percolate.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

Continued work on rewriting Warstone Quartet with emphasis on Darkstone, which went from 91K to 99K. I added a new episode and more description. The other books are all over 100K, so Darkstone needed some additional heft. The episode required some further work as it ended up explaining part of the events that weren't really explained in the Bloodstone book.

Didn't make progress on any other front.

I’ve finally decided that it’s time to get all my WIP’s in order and to start seriously writing again. This means cleaning out the computer, after backing up all the old drafts. Old drafts which I now view as 80k – 90k word outlines. What this means is multi-tasking on a large scale as I try and get to the real meat of each story. It’s not like there’s a long list:

Æsir Dawn
First of a pure fantasy trilogy dealing with an unusual origin story for the Vikings and Norse beliefs, among other things.

Falcon’s Wings
The second book of the trilogy that begins the fulfilment of prophesy begun in Æsir Dawn.

Daisyworld
A soft sci-fi story dealing with, well, that’s hard to define other than to say it’s about a possible consequence if humanity doesn’t ‘evolve’ beyond what we are now. Not physical evolution but ‘world-view’ evolution.

The Gryphon Throne
A fantasy tale inspired by the wars of the roses.

Hel’s Journey
The original idea that spawned The Gryphon Throne.

Ask Not
An exploration of writing a story with a protagonist that isn’t very nice. I wouldn’t take him home to meet mother. Fantasy.

Jack Rayne – Spaceranger
Hard sci-fi story hopefully based a bit on the space opera style but dealing more deeply with the human condition. Btw, Spaceranger isn't a typo, just a play on another word.

I think that’s enough to be going on with, unless inspiration strikes. And that’s a problem; inspiration strikes when it likes, not when it’s needed – or isn’t.

Phil.
