I was thinking about names that sound like they belong to witches/wizards. IMHO, JKR does a great job at creating names for her characters, especially with regard to their houses at Hogwarts. (And Voldemort's name being made from the letters of his real moniker is just cool! )
I thought it would be fun to try and create some names that would fit in the wizarding world. Here's my favorite witch name for myself: Calliope Fergus

Eh... My name (Genevieve) is unusual enough to be on some of the lists of overly strange names-you-should-never-give-characters. (Along with Lillissandrah. And Wendifier. And Jashasaminia.) I'd probably stick with it. And I'm probably pale and freckly enough to be some form of a Weasley.
Genevieve Weasley. Heh. Do we know what Ginny stands for, anyways?

As for the names, I got nothin'. Sorry.
'Sides, I don't see any reason why I can't just be Chris the wizard. Or Cristian. The great and powerful Cristian. Heh. Kneel before me.
But then, I'd probably go the Voldemort way and make something up out of my own 3-name name.

Rather, I believe his "real moniker" is made from his name and we're led to believe the opposite ... in any event I agree that JK is good at naming.
The most hilarious of which is "Gilderoy," which I believe means literally "Gold-Plated King," but on the flipside "Dumbledore" is an example of dislikable name.
As for my wizard name ... Max Power.
Ok, a little too much SImpsons for me, but still ... isn't it a great name for a magical person?

I found this page about HP names and their origins on MuggleNet.com. I think it's interesting!
And according to the J. K. Rowling official website, or at least something that's claiming to be the new J. K. Rowling official website (and I can't see why they'd spend that much time on the web design although who knows), Ginny's full name is Ginevra Molly Weasley. Much nicer than Virginia, in my opinion. It's a neat site-- some interesting pieces.
