This is something else I picked up while I was away...a lengthy graphic novel...but I picked it up and started reading it yesterday afternoon and kept reading when I went to bed and didn't reach the end until several hours past when I turned in.

"Bone: The Complete Cartoon Epic in One Volume." It's copyrighted 2004 but I haven't seen this paperback edition till the last few weeks The artist is Jeff Smith. I've seen some parts of it somewhere over the years, but seeing the whole thing all in one place...well. It held my interest.

It's fantasy in the Tolkienian quest sense...the ostensible "comic relief" are more-or-less the protagonists...there are a bunch more characters you can get to know and get interested in...and, weighing in at some thirteen hundred pages, it's just about the most massive comic collection / graphic novel I've ever run across.

If you go for this sort of thing, keep an eye out for it. It's a hefty price for even a thick paperback, but it's worth it.
