Being a huge HP Lovecraft fan, I would feel remiss in not offering him a (late) happy birthday. He would be 117 this year.
Now, bow down to the wrath of Cthulu.

What do you mean would be?
I'm confident his animated corpse is moldering in someones basement even now...

Or, perhaps, Dr. Herbert West has reanimated him.

Well, wherever he is, you can be sure he's hanging out with Robert E. Howard. What wonders they created, eh?

I did note in passing the anniversary of his death seventy years ago. Which is of some significance because, if the "life-plus-seventy" copyright rule applies, his stuff is all in the public domain. (Check before using.)

Come to think of it, I guess Robert E. Howard would be in the public domain, too. Approach both with caution...you'd probably get a fight over any use or misuse. (I hear a James Joyce scholar has got his own edition of "Ulysses" ready to roll the second it lapses into public domain. Apparently assorted "official" editions have cheesed some Joyce fans off.)
