I was surprised to learn of this book when browsing amazon.com, did OSC never put a huge ad banner for this on the homepage, or did I just miss it?
In any case, I think this has the potential to be quite good, however, he seems to be doing a lot of stuff with Ender lately. I'd like to see him start a new saga that was as rich as the worlds of Alvin and Ender, without involving Alvin and Ender.

I actually saw the banner here just today! I agree, I heard this book was coming and have been anticipating it greatly. I grew up reading Ender, so other books in the series always make me giddy. I read on wikipedia that it's going to also be tied to the Shadow series. I'm really excited to see another link between the two outside of Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow.

I saw the book in stores. I think I've said before that the Ender series never appealed to me---much as I've enjoyed Card's short stories as well as the Alvin Maker series. Didn't like the first part, the novella that was published in Analog lo! these many years ago, and have avoided its permutations ever since.
Go figure.

Y'know, come to think of it, I don't remember checking out anything on the OSC Network except this "writer's forum" section---I got referred (by Kathleen), checked it out, decided I liked what I saw, and hung around---but I can't recall roving anywhere else.

I wonder if the "Mither Mages" universe will meet your requirement, Zero.
I've always liked the Ender stuff best. Speaker is easily one of my favorite books, right up there with Strange New from Another Star. I'll agree that it has a lot of potential--I also read, recently, of another planned book to tie up everything, which I also think has a lot of potential... though the writing styles between the "Ender" stuff and the "Bean" stuff are so different it seems like it'd be quite difficult to reconcile the two.

I've read it: it's pretty good. It's OSC so the prose is all wonderful, but the story lacks the emotional depth of some of his earlier efforts.

I found the quality of the Ender stories got worse with each new novel, so I've stopped reading them all together.

I honestly only liked Enders Game. the rest (with the exception of the Shadows) really just seemed too... dry. there seemed to be a much larger emphasis on characters that OSC didnt really make me want to care about.
the shadow series, however, seemed to me to be just what I wanted: megolomaniacs, love, power struggles, and good ol' man against man. perfect.
