We just finished signing the contract for our new house. It's supposed to be built in about five months. I can't wait to get in it. I've been in an apartment for almost three years and am ready for more space. This will probably be our home for the next 10 years or so and I'm so glad to know where I'll be staying for a long time.

A bit of too-late advice, with regrets...for homeownership, it's one of those things you're better off buying "off the rack." Building is fine but there are always problems...
Other than that, buying a home is one of the best things you can do with your money. Good luck.

My inlaws just built a house and it was really hard while they were doing it, but they love it now. So, good for you.
