Hey everyone, thought it would be fun to play with haiku.

Not sure the exact rules of it, but the general idea is three lines of 5, 7, 5 syllables.

Writing can be hard
I hit backspace oft as space
and then delete file.

So my haiku: Silent, Sad.
Limericks the cure!

with purples and raiding guild fighting.
But get to endgame

I've suddenly time for my writing!

With a dictionary or three. Actually, I collect dictionaries and reference books. And my work requires a broad vocabulary.

What is your work?

Posted by extrinsic (Member # 8019) on :

Copyeditor and proofreader, mostly of transcripts for stenographers working in the legal system: depositions, trials, hearings, municipal and legislative proceedings, civil and criminal, higher and lower courts. From divorce to homicide; professional, medical, and legal malpractice; personal injury, child custody, child abuse, contract disputes, any wrongful acts in contention, evaluations for fitness and character, corruption, anything where a written record of spoken evidence is required.

Posted by extrinsic (Member # 8019) on :

Says who? My experience says otherwise. For example, a twenty-year marriage reduced to a few pages of text recording divorce proceedings is a remarkably clear and brief synopsis of a lifetime of trials.
