Years ago, one of my brothers discovered that our dad's side of the family line contributed more participants to the Union side of the American Civil War than we first believed. Martin was always acknowledged as the family historian among us, and as an American history fanatic in general, but I had no idea how far he took this discovery until he asked me one day to proofread the first few chapters of a book he wanted to write about one fighting unit in particular.

Now, years later, I am proud to introduce on my brother's behalf: 111th New York Volunteer Infantry - A Civil War History.

If you're an American Civil War history fanatic, I invite you to check out his book.

Thanx for your time.

I'll keep an eye out for it. I'm not sure any of my ancestors or relatives actually fought in the Civil War---probably they came here after it was over, though I have no hard information on the subject---though it remains subject that's long held my interest.
