I don't know if very many of you noticed that I haven't been around much the last few days. The reason is my internet provider has been driving me bonkers! For about the last two months I've watched my internet get progressively less and less. Or should I say, slower and slower. Many times I'd lose my posts and started copying and pasting them in "Word" so I'd still have them if they didn't post. Waiting 5, 10, or even 15 minutes for a site or just a page in the site to come up became the norm.

I began to think my computer was on its last legs and took it in for a diagnosis. It's about a 45 minute drive from my house to the best 'puter shop in the area. Oh yeah! I guess I better let you folks know that I'm on broadband with an air card. My 'puter expert asked to see the problem. So I fired up my 'puter... and everything worked great! I couldn't believe it! At least it proved nothing was wrong with my 'puter (a lap top I might add) or the air card. The problem was the transmission towers!

You see, I'm on a Centennial air card, and AT&T bought them out. What's been happening is the Centennial towers are all being switched over to AT&T, which is why my internet connection has been getting less & less. For about the last 3 days, I haven't been able to bring up anything online including my emails! After suffering through all this, AT&T told me it could be another 2 months before all the towers are switched. TWO MONTHS without internet service! I about crapped!

Time to stop in at the AT&T store, and they let me switch to an AT&T air card. Holy moly, what a difference. Everything is working now, pop pop pop, no problem at all and faster than ever. You just can't believe how great I feel after fighting my internet for so long. This is absolutely fantastic! It's just plain awesome to be back in business again.

Congratulations, Crystal. I can totally relate to that kind of frustration, and I'm so glad there was a fix for it.

Now that you mention it I haven't seen your name, but that's not so bad, there are new faces around here abouts and there are other names I haven't seen lately either.

But I know the feeling for sloooow internet. We finally had to break down and get the faster service, even though not the fastest.

But it's nice to see you again. Sort of see you that is...

Thanks LD. It's good to be back in the swing of things. I really didn't switch that much. It's just that I like to check on things on a daily basis, and I rely on Hatrack when it comes to my stories. They've improved tremendously with the help I get here... including the crits. I'd be lost if I was cut off from all that for two solid months!

And thanks for the heads up, Kathleen. I was wondering when I'd see the new addition of the treehouse project we talked about. I'll be going there shortly to check it out .
