I found this randomly today and had to share it. There's a lot of energy in Penny Hardy's sculptures; I find them inspiring.

I've been doing a lot of miniature painting lately, and I'm weirdly proud of it. I've started to really get the hang of shading, highlights and dry brushing.

Do keep in mind, the photos don't do the paint job all that much justice simply because of how small these things actually are and how magnified the photos are. These pieces are maybe an inch and a half tall, aside from the Whispering Tyrant who towers above the others at a respectable two inches.

Here's a wizard.

This fish guy's not quite done yet, but he's almost there. I was trying for a bioluminescent look.

This is the Whispering Tyrant, one of my favorite pieces of history in the entire Pathfinder campaign setting. I'm starting a game for my friends this Sunday with him as the antagonist.

Ah, the joys and frustrations. I did much the same thing many years ago until the eyesight went and nerve damage courtesy of a broken neck made fine detail work impossible--I was painting 5mm figures at that time.

The downside, of course, is that time just disappears without trace: "Three AM, really?" [Eek!]

Phil.
