Hi, my name is Hinotama. I was just a regular teenage human girl living with her parents in the country of Vinya. Ever since I could remember, I've had a fascination with magic and, more specifically, becoming a mage. However, I have never been very good at it.

One day, a mysterious man appeared before me through a firey portal and gave me a book titled Mageborn. The book contained powerful spells and, with my abilities, I was unable to control the spells I conjured. I accidentally blew up my house, killing my family.

With nowhere to go, I was taken in by a wanderer named Rei Rurouni. I travel the world with him, honing my mage skills and meeting new people.

How do you feel about having killed off your whole family?

Are you trying to learn magic so you can make up for doing that?

Do you think the mysterious man was using you to kill off your family? Do you think he might have intended for you to die, too? Are you even trying to find him to at least learn what he thought he was doing giving a book of spells to someone as unskilled as you?

What does Rei Rurouni think about that mysterious man?

I feel incredibly guilty about killing off my family. With them gone, I was left with nothing. All I had left was the magic and, with Rei's help, I would be able to control it so I couldn't hurt anyone else.

Killing my family was an accident. The man has returned to me a couple times since that day. Each time he has come, he has never said a word to me. Instead, he uses the book to help guide me in the right direction. I think of him as a guardian. Nobody except myself has seen him and I have not told anyone about him.

You don't even have the slightest bit of distrust for the man that is partly responsible for your entire family's death?
