Here’s the long & short of it, for those not fully informed (as I was at this time yesterday)… 1.Woman decides to become a call girl, working in London, UK. The blog's writing is good (haven't read the books yet), though the more recent stuff is typical blog fodder – here is the problem with my life right now, here are the people that annoy me, here are other fatuous details about my life. There’s a fair bit about the process of publishing a book, but the real gold on this blog is those first 12 months or so. There are images of such stark beauty and crudeness, personal moments of humor and pathos, moments of both sadness and joy (both fleeting) while she was working as a call girl. I spent a very long night last night and part of the morning today at work (shhhh, don’t tell the boss) going through 6 years of archives. It was really worth it, in my books. I’m quite affected. Makes me want to write. Now I have to go and find her damn books. Anyways, here’s a link. The blog itself is certainly SFW, though the content & language is certainly rated R. PS: I'd totally understand if you want to remove this, Kathleen, as age-inappropriate or morally lacking or some such thing, but I thought it was worth sharing.

I don't know what's in the blog itself, but the matter has been in the news---I saw it this morning on AOL's welcome screen. IP: Logged |

Robert, it's kind of a big deal over in the UK I suppose. I just heard about all this a couple days ago too and devoured the whole blog in a few sittings. That first year really is strong. For anyone hesitant to email me, a quick Google for the term "Belle de Jour Blog" will get you where you want to go. You can even hit I'm Feeling Lucky if you like. IP: Logged |

Actually, my comment was less on the notion of the idea and more on the notion of keeping Hatrack River Writers Workshop pure of whatever sexual content might be in the blog... IP: Logged |
