Happy about this. Finally, I get an international print publication. "A Conversation Between My Father and His Uncle,
Regarding the Appropriate Use of a Block Plane," will appear in the Winter print issue of Sein und Werden.

Thanks!! Yeah, it's definitely the longest title I've ever had accepted. It's a 15 or 16 sentence prose poem that is based loosely on my father's relationship (or lack thereof) with his very physically abusive step-uncle.

In short, the block plane is an allegory for "digging" into the past, for confronting personal and familial demons. The poem envisions a confrontation of sorts, which ends, as it often did for my father, with a beating and a dismissal of the behavior as anything other than normal.

As is typical of me... it's dark, introspective and somewhat nihilistic.
